The Scarlet Line

I tried to hide
On the darker side
Of a scarlet line

A place too far
To see your face

It’s cold as pride
On the darker side
Of that scarlet line

Too far away to
Too know your Grace

But the truth ain’t free
It burns too deeply
It’ll find you in time
On a scarlet line

When your eyes are blinded
By the pride of life
He’ll remind you in time
Of that scarlet line.

Too far away to see
To see your face
You knew me, you drew me

You broke my pride
When you crossed the divide
Of that scarlet line

Oh, the truth ain’t free
Cause it burns too deeply
It found me in time
On a scarlet line

And when my eyes were blinded
By the trials of life
He reminded me in time
Of my scarlet line.

What a faithless man I’ve been
To have seen his face
And turned away again

But these scars still speak
And I know He sees the reason
I believe…

…that the truth ain’t free
It just cuts too deeply
But I’ll still live by faith
When I can’t see your face.

When my eyes are blinded
By the trials of life
I know who redeemed my life
To the brighter side
Of that scarlet line.
